Madera County, CA – Biker killed after being thrown from bicycle near Oakhurst

MADERA COUNTY, CA – According to the California Highway Patrol, a motorcyclist died after leaving a road and being thrown from his bike near Oakhurst.

Around 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a call about a motorcycle near Routes 221 and 222.

When officers arrived, Cal Fire units were on the scene. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, according to CHP officers.

Officers said the motorcyclist was traveling east on Route 222 at an undetermined speed when the driver failed to turn left.

The driver was forced onto the dirt south shoulder, ejecting the driver and crashing into a sign belonging to the US Forest Service, reports the California Highway Patrol.

At this time, officers do not know if drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
